Alt-right conspiracy theorist calls dad ‘paedophile’, now accused of murder

“It only takes one”.

In Rupert Quaintance’s August trial, this phrase was repeated by all the witnesses. “It only takes one”, they said, describing their terror as they realised that a person who’d made violent threats against them and their children from afar had actually travelled thousands of miles, presumably to make good on his word. Maybe he was bluffing…but maybe he wasn’t. And the witnesses understood that they couldn’t take chances when it came to their and their families’ lives.

We pointed out the same thing last December, when an unhinged conspiracy theorist decided to “investigate” claims of a paedophile ring being run out of a popular Washington pizza restaurant. And by “investigate” we mean bring guns, fire shots (which fortunately did not injure anyone), and terrorise the patrons of the restaurant, including children enjoying pizza with their parents. Edgar Welch was only one of many “Pizzagate” fanatics, but he took his obsession just that one step too far, and is serving four years in prison as a result.

Lane Davis: Stabbed father in chest ‘for calling him a Nazi’

And now the internet is buzzing about Lane Davis, a 33-year-old right-wing conspiracy theorist, frequent Reddit contributor, and writer/researcher for Breitbart News editor Milo Yiannapoulos.

Mr Davis, who is unemployed and lived with his parents on an island in Washington state, stands accused of having murdered his 73-year-old father for calling him a Nazi. He has denied the charge, and is currently in jail, with bail set at US$1 million.

According to Buzzfeed,

Court documents state that Davis’s mother called police at 3:37 p.m. on July 14 on Samish Island, Washington, saying that her son was “out of control.” When police arrived at their house, she called again and said Davis had stabbed his father and the father had died. …

Davis told detectives that he and his father had gotten into an argument and that his father “called him a Nazi” and wanted to kick him out of the house, according to court documents. Davis confessed to stabbing his father in the chest.

Davis was a frequent contributor to Reddit under the name Seattle4Truth, and his page is still active. His last contribution to the forum site, made in r/thedonald, was reposting a tweet by Paul Joseph Watson, an editor at InfoWars.

Brandy Zadrozny of The Daily Beast, who broke the story on Wednesday, said that on the afternoon of Charles Lane’s murder,

Lane’s parents, Catherine and Charles Davis—Charles was known as Chuck to his friends—were used to their 33-year-old son’s outbursts. They had become so frequent that Charles had started recording the tirades on his phone. But that afternoon, they were tired of Lane’s screaming, wanted him to leave, and told him as much. Instead, Lane chased his parents around their home, spitting in his father’s face while screaming that he wasn’t threatening to kill them, but “pedophiles who were taking over the country.”

[PLEASE NOTE: The following screenshots contain graphic descriptions of violence. Please avoid if this would be disturbing to you.]

This is how the Sheriff’s Detective for the county of Skagit, Washington, described the situation:

Lane Davis had been immersed in various standard conspiracy theories—vaccines, 9/11 was an inside job, and so forth. He was also involved in GamerGate, a campaign of online harassment against female video game designers and males who supported them.

Starting in the summer of 1994 with a jilted man’s allegations that his ex-girlfriend, a games designer, had engaged in infidelity in order to win favourable reviews for her game, GamerGate grew into a massive online hate war which included doxing, rape threats, death threats, stalking, and defamation. (As an aside, GamerGate was EC’s first exposure to online harassment at this level, and it proved an interesting and educational introduction to the  tactics which would later be used by the Hoaxtead mobsters.)

Ms Zadnozny notes,

Lane’s position in the GamerGate controversy is puzzling. Though initially a supporter of the movement, internal fighting over credit for his research led Lane to disavow his former colleagues. By the summer of 2015, he had defected to an anti-GamerGate group. The change in loyalty didn’t seem to affect his tactics, however. In addition to his behind-the-scenes “digging” for the cause, Lane would call the employers of women game developers and their allies, in an attempt to get them fired.

London musician Joshua Idehen was one of his targets. Idehen said Lane sent an email to his manager, his agent, and to a charity he worked with, and alleged he was involved with pedophilia.

It was via GamerGate that Lane Davis connected with Milo Yiannopoulos, who’d risen to prominence amongst the GG yobs; Mr Yiannopoulos took Mr Davis on as one of his 44 unpaid “interns”, a fancy word for “researcher and ghostwriter”.

However, it was when he joined the even-further-right RalphRetort.com, headed by yet another GamerGate graduate, Ethan Ralph, that Lane Davis started earning his own headlines. Still no money, but lots of headlines. When news of the murder of Mr Davis’ father reached the RalphRetort, they immediately scrubbed all evidence of Mr Davis from their site.

Ms Zadnozny writes, “Since the news of Lane’s crime, the site has, in colorful language, distanced itself from Lane, and rejected the notion that the alt-right could have either indoctrinated Lane or given safe haven for his violent ideas”. We should point out here that Ethan Ralph is currently in prison, serving an eight-month sentence for assaulting a police officer.

In a podcast about the murder, troofer Jack “FoxDie” Pierce warned his listeners:

Some people out there that are looking into this deep-level conspiracy level thing, PizzaGate or whatever. You may be on to something What I can tell you from experience is don’t let it consume you. …

But when you spend so much time trying to dig into information and trying to understand things around you, you do get enveloped by it, it does bother you and you do change… You do get too deep and some people go crazy from it, temporarily or forever, but that’s just a risk of going into these dangerous sort of fields.

We’re not trying to claim here that all, or even most conspiracy theorists are prone to uncontrolled outbursts of rage and violence as a result of their fascination with shape-shifting lizard people or a fictitious world-wide paedophile conspiracy.

However, it does seem that the simmering anger, resentment, and paranoia that characterise many of those in the “truth” community online has the potential to overwhelm some people’s psyches. People like Lane Davis, who seem to revel in the implicit violence of online “causes” like GamerGate, the alt-right and/or neo-Nazi movement, or yes, the world of conspiracy-believers, can become so filled with the belief that they are fighting some sort of holy war that they commit unspeakable, irrevocable acts of violence…even against those they love.

And what about would be troofer-warriors, such as those in the Hoaxtead mob, who’ve never even met the people they vilify? Conceivably, it could be even easier for one of them to decide to strike out violently against those they believe might be paedophiles.

None have done this so far.

Most probably wouldn’t.

But it only takes one.

  1. Woah.. this is awful news. His poor parents. 😦

The paranoia is strong in Conspiraloons, I hope we don’t get to see more and more of these cases but I suspect we might.

        • I’ve a feeling he’s the kind of guy that would pull a knife on his parents if they confronted him over his online activities. Lest we forget the late Aaron Dover’s calls for people to beat his mother to death. That still sends a shiver down my spine.

          • Then there’s Christine Ann Sands wishing her mother an awful death and I remember Rupert saying his parents were terrified of him. Not saying either of these people would do something violent but it makes you wary of them doesn’t it.

  2. Milo Yiannopolis has deleted the byline that included Lane Davis as a contributor. Even Lane Davis’ previous employer, “The Ralph Retort” has cut ties with Lane Davis. It’s a very sad and stressful situation, and reflects the dangers of being unable to just chill out. There are better things to talk about at the dinner table than leftists paedophiles.

    • This scumbag Milo is due in Australia any day now for a ‘tour’. He is being promoted by a well know Jewish publicist who I emailed to register my disgust- he replied “lighten up”.
The “troothers” and conspiraloons are extremely dangerous people and I mean the whole bloody lot of them including our Hampstead mob.

They toss fuel onto the fire and inspire murderers and defamers. They cannot be ignored. I was the only one who listened to my Grandfather’s tales of why he packed up the family and fled East Europe as he watched the rise of the Nazis. Other friends and family said he was over-reacting- some where never heard of again.
The incidents mentioned here are really just the tip of the iceberg.
The viciousness, the vileness of them & the grief they cause is inestimable. Even now after the publicity about the ghastly harassers of the Sandy Hook families- the creeps have re-grouped and stepped up the hurt.

  3. Tragic, EC. And a terrifying reflection of a modern phenomenon perpetuated by the dark side of the web, i.e. it’s ability to spread nasty rumours and whip hoards of unhinged maniacs into a frenzy. The internet has brought us many good things but there’s an ugly side to it too.

    • Yes, I’m particularly interested in the transition from GamerGate to alt-right media to “the world is run by a paedophile elite”. As I mentioned, I followed GamerGate quite closely in its early months. When I became aware of Hoaxtead, one of the first things I noticed was that while the people involved were different, the song remained the same: “if you’re not for us you’re an SJW/a paedophile” and so forth. Both groups seemed to believe they held the moral high ground and that their vile tactics were justified by the importance of the battles they believed they were waging. Both seemed to comprise a howling mob majority, led by a few wily, manipulative instigators, who turned up the heat whenever the battle began to fade. And of course, both involved the Internet being used as a weapon, affecting the lives of real people.

    • This story also shows how dangerous it can be to stand up to these conspiraloons if you know/meet them for real. This reinforces my admiration for the Hampstead residents who stood up to Rupert.

        • Ah but then you have the likes of Sharon Chesterman really angry because you have a “fake” profile on fb (due to the reason you’ve had stalkers in the past). One that attacked you physically and drew blood, so much so, that they had a “restraining” order taken out on them.

Then there’s her mate Abdul “Chainsaw” Sattar also calling you out as a fake, instead of concentrating on the factual information that you gave out that his mate Archit Ssan is a convicted woman beater, with a hammer I might add that was sentenced to 5 years in prison.

Thankfully Tony Ashby many hours later posted the Bailli evidence of this, but yet they still slated me as a fake, instead of the content of my message.

The internet is a real eye opener to me, I would never had known all these nutters existed.

And I might add so many anti child abuse “activists” are predatory sex offenders…

That’s really pleasing to hear and offers a grain of hope that the authorities are finally waking up to the reality of internet hate-spreading and that these vigiloons won’t be tolerated for much longer.

(Hmmm, ‘vigiloon’ – I’m liking that. Another one for the Hoaxtead lexicon?)

  6. As we’ve seen from many of the conspiraloons that have been exposed here, far right leanings are sadly a common trait among them. In fact, for all their bickering, back-stabbing and bloody schisms, it’s been consistently the one thing on which most of them agree. In particular, anti-Jewish hate/scapegoating are virtually an entry requirement in Conspiraland.

  7. So…those thirty-something kids who imagine themselves to be “broadcasting” via youtube from their Dad’s garage…might be more dangerous than they appear even to their parental caretakers? Hmmm?

    Liked by 2 people

    • If broadcasting on YouTube from the garage is the best a thirty-something kid can manage, his or her parents might want to have a serious heart-to-heart with them about their life choices. I know unemployment is rife, especially among “millennials”, but subsidizing one’s off-spring so they can sit in the garage (with or without Siamese cat) and play journalist seems like a pretty poor life lesson.

A few years ago there was an anti child abuse campaigner, at least that’s what he called himself, who kept putting on Facebook pictures of who, he alleged where James Bulgers killers grown up, other people did it too, but some one got it wrong, one of my hem was nothing to do with James Bulger what so ever, and he took his own life. When the Sunday People decided to print photographs of people who where Peadophiles, the people of Plymouth I believe it was, decided on doing a vigilante march through the town. They found what they thought was a paedophiles house, put the windows in and stormed the house. Only someone who looked up the address couldn’t read properly, because the actual persons house who it was, was in fact a paediatrician. The incident where the disabled man was being terrorised by his neighbours, because he liked to take photographs of flowers in his garden, and eventually murdered, by his neighbours called the police for help every day, they just insulted him even more, and eventually arrested him for breach of the peace. I think one of them was sacked from the force and the others were given warnings, that should never of happened. Internet vigilantes should be put away as far as I’m concerned. They know they’re just doing it for there own excitement, but it gets quite worrying when you think what kind of excitement would that be. As far as Angela in concerned though she remains nods me of the story of the little boy, who’s baby sister was being christened and he felt left out, so he announced in a big loud voice, I’m going to take my pants off and run around the garden.

  9. There does seem to be a lack of accountability for those who promote online conspiracies that end up with people taking action in the real world, such as the Comet gunman incident. I remember this instantly being put down by conspiracy theorists as a false flag/orchestrated event to try and shut down any Pizzagate talk.

I’ve noticed David Seaman has been promoting a lot of interesting ideas lately about the Illuminati/Global Cabal, luciferian globalists, Soros, the Podesta’s, Google, Pizzagate etc even promoting ideas from Ancient Aliens star David Wilcock. According to Seaman, Google are Luciferians, the Podesta’s are Low level Illuminati, they traumatise people that they induct, they traumatise them so that their brains break.
It’s all part of the Rothschilds, Soros, Luciferian, Illuminati global mafia or something.

It’s the words of a guy called Potito a member of the NSRP who in a speech said the Surgeon generals report was proof of two shooters. So not facts, just a guys opinion during a 3 hour speech back in 1964, but of course that is now credible proof to Conspiracy types.

  10. Despite pretty much all of us – including EC and Scarlet – regularly and passionately speaking out against Nazism, antisemitism, racism and the far right in general (not to mention the fact that our ‘membership’ includes black, Asian, mixed race and Jewish posters), a certain American has once again stated, in his latest video travesty, that this blog is run by Nazis. To any passing hoaxer/troofer/conspiranoid fruitloops, can I once again implore you to at least make your lies credible? Seriously, Arsehole, take a long hard look in the mirror and ask yourself if you GENUINELY expect people to believe that we are Nazis.

        • @Lulz – when they introduce an anti-semitic element, you know its cah-cah (Jack Ruby was secretly Rubenstein).
The only credible candidate (in my opinion) for a second shooter, or a “real shooter” with Oswald indeed playing (knowingly) the patsie role of bringing the rifle to the depository but not actually firing it, would be the little Cuban marksman who subsequently died in one of the post bay-of-pigs “invasions”. His comrades were all captured by Castro’s forces and jailed, one of them claimed “our little friend” confessed to being a Dealey Plaza gunman as he died on the sands of his homeland.
I don’t think it’s impossible, that Oswald believed he had been recruited as an assassin, and trained – not in marksmanship but in the “traditions” of assassins – by a genuine CIA assassin, which DeMohrenschildt may have been. Possibly “homosexually” inducted into The Brotherhood, type of thing. At least one of the CIA’s real assassins was an incidental homosexual, and there really were traditions in Europe wherein members of the minor nobility played the roles of diplomats, spies and assassins with secret homosexual traditions.
There was a VonMohrenschildt (all the same family, different spellings inside or outside Germany) who was part of the SA and killed during the Night of The Long Knives, who is commemorated as a murdered homosexual by Germany’s LGBT community.

          • I should clarify.
When the CIA hired QJ/WIN to run their assassination bureau, ultimately including the ZR/RIFLE project, they really hired him to recruit and hire other assassins. This structure gave them their deniability – the real assassins worked for QJ/WIN, not for the CIA. The CIA may have had a military model in mind, but if QJ/WIN really was an old school European assassin as their documents claim, that would have meant a “master and apprentice” relationship, because it was a “craft”. Traditionally, loyalty & secrecy were ensured in such criminal crafts by a homosexual assignation between master and apprentice – because homosexual acts were illegal everywhere in Europe until very recent times, and could be punishable by death if the authorities so chose.

  15. No-one knows if Joseph Goebbels ever made this claim but it seems very apt in the current climate : “”accuse the other side of that which you are guilty”.
The release of these JFK papers has been totally underwhelming and I’ve grown very bored with even trying to read some of the FBI rambling letters that basically include a few extra snippets of conspiracy loon which was always bound to get the troofer mob howling (with delight?)…after all, not only are they so frigging predictable they are like hungry dogs after a bone and jump when ordered. Never an original thought (and that includes the plagiarist Icke) what with @pizzagarbage and so on.

I think it’s all pretty scary though.
Yesterday we had Donald Trump tweeting some ridiculous claim that it was actually Hilary Clinton who got the Russians to supply information on Trump and that the claims the Trump camp were aided by Putin were a fiction, despite every US Intelligence agency confirming that the Russians aided Trump. In reality the Democrats paid for a dossier to be compiled on Trump, something that opponents do in every election on the planet. Trump has even hinted that Clinton was being investigated over the so-called uranium sale to Russia which is another fiction. Despite Clinton having no control over this matter, it was actually the Russians asking the FBI for samples (of their own uranium) for a long involved conspiracy trial to defraud them. The vast bulk of that uranium is still in the USA.

These are just distractions by Trump to divert attention from his own problems and it works – frighteningly so. It’s just another part of the conspiracy quilt being weaved which has dire consequences (one being that the American democracy experiment may finally be crumbling from within) but the tentacles reach far & wide and the falsehoods of the Hoaxers are directly linked. They soak up this guff like a sponge (probably because there is so much empty unused space in their brain) and in the end, residents in North London are falsely accused or a mentally disturbed man shoots his own father.
The condemnation of the promoters of the false Hampstead claims is really not swift or tough enough. They seem to be allowed to foment and promote their evil while politicians are asleep at the wheel.
