A word to the wise: Protect your Facebook account from Charlotte Ward!

We’ve been notified that Charlotte is ramping up her ‘tunnelling’ activities again.

By ‘tunnelling’ she actually means ‘violating innocent citizens’ privacy by searching through their Facebook timelines, checking out their friend lists, and creating ridiculous fantasies about them, which she then publishes as fact’.

We realise that most people don’t expect their Facebook accounts to be invaded in this way, and aren’t really prepared for it. After all, isn’t the point of Facebook to share things?

It is, but most of us don’t want unscrupulous people like Charlotte and the other Hoaxtead hawkers poking through our pictures and friend lists, turning our innocent holiday pictures into ‘evidence’ of our sinister involvement in shadowy non-existent ‘death cults’, for example.

If there were some way to reach each of Charlotte’s potential targets and warn them, we’d do it; but part of the problem is that she seems to pull her next victims’ names out of her well-padded arse.

So we’re offering this information in hope that anyone even remotely connected with Christ Church Primary School, Fitzjohn’s Primary School, New End Primary School—indeed, any of the schools named in this hoax—will read this info’, take immediate action to protect themselves, and pass the information along to anyone they suspect might be in Charlotte’s sights. Working together, you can protect yourselves and each other. 

Keep your Facebook account between you and your friends

In particular, you’ll want to look carefully at your privacy settings:

Hide your Friends list!

In addition, you’ll want to hide your Friends list from anyone you don’t already know. By default, everyone can see who your friends are in the Friends section of your timeline. To change this setting:

  1. Go to your timeline.
  2. Click on the Friends unit (under your cover photo).
  3. Click the Edit button at the top of the page and use the audience selector to choose who can see your friend list on your timeline.
  4. Remember that mutual friends will still be visible to others.

Please—help yourself, help one another, and stay safe.

  2. It is a good idea that every individual makes it their aim to protect their personal and family privacy from modern intrusive activities. The modern paradigm is to invade personal space, and it seems people have become too complacent in allowing it, as if it has become the norm.

  4. I really think a concise email setting out this particular nasty creep’s activities should be sent to a few tabloid writers. Especially her child abuse images activities and her urging of people to join her in the same and now with recent controversy about children’s photos being nicked by pervs from Facebook etc, surely it’s time a newspaper did a follow up story on some of the more lunatic promoters of the satanic fantasy. Even the fact she lives in Surinane is a story in itself. It sounds like right up newspapers like the Mail / Sun / Mirror or even the Independent. There must be some way of embarrassing Surinane authorities into taking action against this odious creature who seems particularly filled with malice.

    • I have wondered about this myself. I’m not sure how much interest there would be in Charlotte Ward alone, but as part of a Daily Mail expose of Belinda, and her various activities, she could become a prominent character.

    • As FS says, I’m not sure how much interest there’d be in Charlotte herself (and I don’t know how useful it would be to spread her malicious lies even further than she’s managed to do), but perhaps something on the general internet nuttiness surrounding Hoaxtead would not be amiss. A year after the case started, and innocent people are still suffering the fallout.

    • LOL, that’s my advice too really, but a lot of people are very attached to the place. I do think that safe Facebooking is a way to protect one’s self from Charlotte and her ilk.
