Time to mend the nets

It happens from time to time: things go quiet amongst the Hampstead hoaxers and their followers, and we are left twiddling our thumbs and wondering what to write about.

In the past we’ve busied ourselves with tidying up various areas of the blog, and right now we’re facing a tidy-up of epic proportions: we need to go through the reports from Sabine’s trial and arrange them in a way which will make them easily accessible to newcomers.

This will probably involve creating some new permanent pages, as we’ve done with the two previous “big” Hampstead trials—Sabine and Neelu’s 2016 trial for witness intimidation, and Rupert Quaintance’s harassment trial last year.

We realised yesterday that a number of interesting facts were revealed at the trial which deserve more consideration here.

For example, as we mentioned yesterday, it came to light during the trial that evidence found on her computer showed that Sabine had been correct in asserting that she had only become involved in the case in November 2014.

This has forced us to revise our opinion that the entire case was cooked up by Belinda, Sabine, Abraham, and Ella many months earlier. Given the evidence heard in court, it now appears that the original collusion was between Abraham and Ella, and that they had contacted Gerrish and Maloney independently, prior to returning to the UK from Morocco.

Over the next few days, we’ll be integrating this and similar material into the FAQ pages, and probably doing a bit of fancy footwork with the pages themselves, to ensure they’re easily accessible by new readers.

Of course, having said this, we fully expect that tomorrow we will wake up to some startling new development which will require our full attention…because that’s just how this thing rolls.

But for now, it’s time to mend the nets.

  1. With the jailing of Sabine, it would do no harm to reassess whether the blog still has a raison d’etre in the minds of its principals. A hoax witch hunt is something that happens often, probably far more often than the witchy conspiracies targeted. Most normal people lament either. The need to tidy up the blog is probably an apt metaphor for the question, “What now?” Good luck!

    • If Sabine were the only one, yes
Unfortunately there are still many others willing to run with it (some of which may already be ‘feeling the heat’ so to speak…
I think there will not be a shortage of others to keep track of, unfortunately
(personally it would be wonderful to see the end of the need for this blog, but imho- it probably wont happen for years yet)
      😦

      • I agree the blog is needed long-term.

If at some future date there is no new news about he Hampstead hoax, there may still be a need to report on other hoaxes, and what the former hoaxers are up to, and to discuss (as it were) “hoax theory” in the abstract.

My thought was that a day might come when a choice would need to be made, either to expand the topic of this blog, or to create a new blog to cover the larger agenda. There are pros and cons of both approaches.

        • I agree with you, John. In the wake of Sabine’s trial I talked to a number of our commenters about whether there would still be a need for this blog in the short- to medium term. Ultimately the decision was “not sure, wait and see”. While the main hoaxers have either fled the field or been imprisoned, my personal opinion is that until people like Angela Power-Disney are charged and tried, the story will not be finished. You’re right that we may need to shift focus at some point, but I hope the archives we’ve built up about the hoax will remain online, as a guide and cautionary tale to others who will (inevitably, I fear) have to face similar hoaxes in the future.

          • I may feel the need to unfollow this blog soon, not because I dislike it, but because I am heading for a week or so to a destination where I will have limited and slow internet access. The number of comments daily has rocketed, and the proportion of the comments I’d be likely to reply to or think about much has plummeted. Having unsubscribed for those reasons, I may forget to re-subscribe when I get home. If it were easy to remind me to resubscribe, or to invite me to subscribe to any new blog that was a spin-off of this, I’d be pleased to receive an email, either in a week or two, or when a new blog is born, if you go down that route. [anything]@JohnAllman.UK will get to me.

Congratulations that Sabine has been jailed. I take no pleasure in her comeuppance per se. I tried to warn her that Draper was almost certainly a hoaxer. However, the vindication of those falsely accused and harassed, and their increased safety whilst Sabine is off the scene, are to be richly celebrated by all right-thinking people (if there are any), along with those of us lesser mortals with wrong thoughts too, but at least not as bad as the thoughts of Abe and Ella, which P and Q were tortured into expressing in false narratives, as Mrs Justice Pauffley put it.

Unfortunately, it is undeniable that all sorts of horrid cruelties are inflicted upon men, women and – yes – even *children*, including *babies*, in this evil world, often ritualistically or for superstitious reasons. Everything the evil imagination of Ella and Abe could concoct, is probably an approximation to some that, at some time in history, somebody else has imagined and then actually done. (Abuse of DHL facilities to import sacrificial “lambs” alive, ejaculating half-pints when aged 6, and packing 30 adults into one disabled toilet excepted obviously.)

    • I believe it is paramount that this website remain.
It is basically an historical document.

The Hampstead hoax is a modern day Salem Witch Trial with attempts to “execute” the innocent chosen “witches” both metaphorically or even physically with endless calls for violence.

Many people set out to destroy lives either deliberately or through ignorance. Some have paid a severe penalty for doing so and some miscreants have still not been brought to justice.

Hoaxtead is a valuable source of information, evidence and facts for researchers or even possible future victims of internet malfeasance seeing the internet has been a major way the hoax was perpetuated. It would be foolish to think there will not be more similar cases.New generations arise and there can be impressionable people among them.

There are examples of how similar types of controversies have blown up with great exaggerations and ludicrous claims that envelope possible crimes committed and then settle down after various court cases only to lie quietly until yet another group of fantasists seize upon the claims and breathe fresh air into them with ridiculous fantasies.

There are dozens of examples but I cite one: the Franklin child prostitution ring allegations from the 1980s has become another “Hoaxtead” among the conspiraloons. Although it has a Wikipedia page it’s quite difficult to now find the details that expose the numerous myths surrounding the case.
      ## I’m surprised the Hampstead Hoax doesn’t have a Wikipedia page but even if it did, Wikipedia usually only gives the bare bones and likes to link to more informative websites such as this.

It was disappointing to see the Anna Raccoon website exploding many of the myths surround Jimmy Savile’s alleged actions at Duncroft go. Although a University keeps her research for posterity that’s not a lot of use for the general public.

      • I *like* this blog. It was needed to rebut the hoax. It needs to stay up for a hundred years, as a historical record and research resource now that the hoax has been rebutted. Inevitably, the flow of news that is specifically relevant to THIS hoax, will now slow down though.

If, when they reach adulthood, P and Q would agree to a movie being made based upon this true story of a modern-day witch hunt, I can see merit in such a future project. The world must learn lessons from this dreadful episode of history.

    • I have emailed the BBC and asked them to consider taking down the Victoria Derbyshire interview that is on YouTube or at least to disable comments on the grounds that their efforts to expose the hoax has, through the comments section, become a vehicle for perpetuating it. I received a response saying that my comments would be circulated to senior management with all the other “complaints” but no real encouragement that any action will be taken. Perhaps if more people were to submit a similar request ….?

      • Indeed and so we should.
In fact the BBC could be in legal trouble if the comments are defamatory and they have been notified and allow them to remain.
And the more times they are told the less defense they have.

“the police asked me to work for them so I know they are corrupt”.
There are only 2 ways the police would ask him to work for them: as a civilian office worker or as a paid informant which is normal and legal.
In other words as a “grass”.
And they wouldn’t want him as a regular informant unless he was an active member of the criminal class. People who commit one-off crimes do not get asked to be informants.

    • I know exactly why he’s doing this. Like many, I’ve struggled with a weight problem, but these days it’s under control, so I couldn’t work out why he was being so persistent with the bullying fat pics. Clearly it’s an effort to hurt, demoralise, and shame me, but where did he get the idea that this would be a sore spot for me?

Recently I realised where he got the idea, and I’m slapping myself on the forehead for not getting it sooner.

Some time ago, Cat Snot found the old blog my sister and I used to run, which is now stored on the Wayback Machine. On that blog I ran a weekly series called “Weight loss in midlife” or something similar, where I discussed my own struggles over the years. I also talked about how I’d been bullied as a young teen by some girls who focused on my weight. Clearly, Eddie, Babs, Cat, Angela et al have decided that this is the way to “get” me.

But in typical hoaxer style, they searched only until they found what they wanted, and no further—because if they’d read everything I wrote on the subject they’d know that I’ve long since come to terms with the issue.
Not only have I settled the matter with the girls who used to bully me, but (as the hoaxers would know if they’d bothered to look a bit further) I actually feel sympathy for them now.

As for Eddie, now that I know what he’s trying to do, his actions make more sense to me. This isn’t about who I am now; it’s about who he thinks I am, based on something that happened years ago that I happened to reveal years later. He’s working hard to inflict damage, not realising that his target got up and walked away before he even loaded the gun.

Does he not stop to think that if I was writing about it publicly a few years ago, perhaps it was no longer a burning issue for me?

Oh, right. Eddie’s a hoaxer. “Stopping to think” is not in his skill repertoire. My bad.

South Australia has a strange propensity to produce some of the worst murderers in Oz history and some really oddball characters. Snowtown Bodies in the Barrels case, serial killer Bevan Spencer von Einem and of course the Beaumont Children mystery.

He told me had to flee South Australia where he was from as he had been at a “gay beat” in Adelaide when a mysterious murder happened as a recently arrived British academic was thrown into a river and drowned, it was suspected, by Vice Squad police. Monopoly was warned by a policeman pal, as it became known he may have been a witness, to get out of town fast.
He fled abroad but it was actually beneficial as he became a successful entertainer although he died in Brighton of cancer at age 50.

I’ve only seen Andy Divine make one death threat : “a bullet to the back of the head” -but that’s because I can only last a minute or so of listening to him.

The problem is his fanatical fan base are the ones who watch & regularly absorb all this stuff.
Never forget the shocking incident in the “@pizzagate” matter where a man shot up a restaurant merely because of rubbish he read on the net. How differently that could have turned out. I admire the customers who keep going there out of defiance of these fanatics but they actually put themselves and their families at risk because of dangerous fools like Divine.

See how they have relentlessly promoted the Finchley Road nonsense. No matter how many times they are asked for their so-called evidence it’s never forthcoming but in the space of a few short years they and Divine have built it into mythical proportions whereby it’s now absorbed Hoaxtead into the mix.

It doesn’t take a stretch of the imagination after seeing terrible mass murders in the USA & UK (and Europe) – Manchester, London Bridge, Las Vegas by fanatics for a crazed person to emerge in the UK believing they must “take out” those who think they belong to some alleged satanic cult.

With the ludicrous claim MI5 control us lot, I would hope they actually watch people like Andy Divine as he is a dangerous risk to British citizens (and the odd Canadian).
There is little difference between Divine and Jihadists urging others to commit an ISIL style atrocity.
