Jon Wedger, Bill Maloney, and the RAINS list

Yesterday we touched on the documented links between the Ritual Abuse Information Network and Support (RAINS); their notorious “RAINS list” of random people compiled by co-founder Joan Coleman from the “alter” personalities of her client “Helen G.”; and Operation Yewtree, the police investigation into allegations of sexual abuse by the late Jimmy Savile.

One of our readers kindly pointed out to us that retired police officer Jonathan Wedger, who has recently been trying to “whistle-blow” about alleged SRA via various friends in the online troofer community, seemed quite well acquainted with the RAINS list:

Readers may remember Mr Wedger as “Nathan Numnuts Wedger”, much reviled by Abraham Christie for his role in forwarding an email to police which demonstrated conclusively that the Hampstead SRA hoax had been planned and executed as a publicity gambit.

In the above video with Bill Maloney, the two discuss the RAINS list:

Bill: It’s also the subject itself, Jon. People are frightened of that subject. And something that we, both you and I believe goes on, well we actually know it goes on, is something called S R A. Satanic Ritual Abuse. And it goes on, Jon…

Jon: Well, it’s the elephant in the room. Any act of sexual (fondness?) of a child has got a big Satanic element to it, you know, and it’s one of those things that the more you look into it, the more it crops up, y’know, and there is an organised element to it. Now initially, I didn’t really come across it, but then it did start cropping up. And the more we look into it now, the more it’s [inaudible]. And you’ve got to look at, why are these people clamping down on this? And these are people in positions of privilege and power. One of the things that really sort of changed it was when there was a list that was compiled that we class as the RAINS list.

Bill: Oh! You said the name! [both laugh]

Jon: It’s an acronym. It stands for Ritual Abuse or something like that, I can’t remember. And it was such a comprehensive list, it was so well put together…

Bill: What kind of people were on it, Jon?

Jon: It was a mix. I mean there were names I never heard of…

Bill: I don’t mind so much about the names, I mean what they’ve done, where they come from, were they…there was politicians on there now…

Jon: Politicians, police officers…

Bill: Lords…

Jon: There were lords, there were members of the clergy, there were drug addicts, there were just normal standard people, a lot of the people come from the care system…

An interesting point: both men seemed a bit shocked that Mr Wedger had dared to name the RAINS list: “Oh! You said the name!” They giggle together as though he’d said something very naughty.

In a way, he had.

The RAINS list

On the S.A.F.F. website, you will find a partially redacted version of the RAINS list. As you can see from that list, individuals both living and dead are charged not only with child sexual abuse, but with crimes such as murder.

At least one person on the list who was arrested was comedian Jimmy Tarbuck, who was arrested in 2013 during Operation Yewtree. Within a year the charges against him were dropped, not just because of insufficient evidence, but because evidence showed that he’d been the victim of a false allegation.

However—and this is curious given that the RAINS list has been passed around as if it were a factual document and not just a collection of random people curated by a deluded psychiatrist—none of the instances of alleged “human sacrifice” were ever reported to police, let alone investigated, says S.A.F.F.:

You will note from the document below that stunning allegations of human sacrifice at stately homes attended by ‘the highest in the land’ are accepted and recorded without any attempt to confirm or qualify the details. The allegations are passed on to others who receive this list as though a proven fact.

There is no mention whether Joan Coleman, who appears to have been the author of this list, actually bothered to tell the police about these ‘murders’ and what the results of their enquiries, if any, were.  Remember  that  Joan and Valerie [Sinason] were in close touch with officials in the Met. Did they pass on this information? If not why not? If they did then what did the police investigations result in?  Certainly no prosecutions as far as we are aware.

Surely, as a police officer himself, Jonathan Wedger would have been aware that the list constituted unverified, un-investigated nonsense?

Or would he have just looked down at the list, thought to himself, “Sure, seems plausible to me”, and accepted it as fact?

Wedger, Maloney, and Veale

Another curiosity in the Maloney/Wedger video comes at about 6:23, when Bill Maloney brings up former Wiltshire Chief Constable Mike Veale, who consulted “whistle-blowers” such as, erm, Robert Green in his attempt to prove that former PM Edward Heath had been a paedophile.

In October 2017, Richard Bartholomew of Barth’s Notes noted that Mr Green had based his advice to Mr Veale upon information gleaned from the RAINS list:

For the record, I was merely acting as a messenger in relaying details to Chief Constable Veale regarding information passed on to me by the eminent specialist into sexual abuse, Dr Joan Coleman. Five witnesses, all totally independent of each other, had provided, years ago, evidence of being sexually assaulted by Heath and all had referred to the same highly unusual feature about Heath common to all five cases. Hence the credibility of the evidence of witnesses as described by the Chief Constable.

I had absolutely no personal contact with any of these witnesses, nor do I know of their identities. As Dr Coleman is very elderly, I was entrusted with this information over seven years ago. Included also was evidence against Jimmy Savile, well before the Daily Mail or any other mainstream publication had the courage to expose this notorious paedophile.

Here’s how Dr Coleman described Mr Heath in the RAINS list:

Ted Heath: Former Prime Minister. Homosexual but not exclusively, where children are concerned. He has been mentioned by at least 5 SRAS, none of whom know each other. Several have described long finger nails. Am told that he wore false claws added to his nails, with which he clawed his child victims. He died in 2005. The cult held their own funeral on 31st July – 1st August 2005.

A couple of notes about this allegation: it seems likely that the “false claws added to his nails” piece was added in order to explain away the fact that in all known photographs, Mr Heath had short fingernails.

And Mr Heath’s Christian funeral took place in Salisbury cathedral in 25th July 2005 with over 1,600 guests attending. Details, details.

In the video, Bill salutes Mr Veale, and says that a member of his family was one of those who’d made allegations that he’d been abused by “a prime minister of this country….And I think that’s why Mike incorporated my family into [the Operation Conifer report]”.

Mr Wedger responds:

Well, funny you’d say that, because Mike has contacted me, and one of the things he said is, ‘If they’ve been doing this to me as a chief constable, God alone only knows what they’ve been doing to you’….And I said, ‘They’ll come for you, Mike, they’ll come for you like they came for everyone.

So it seems that in addition to Mr Veale’s connection with Robert Green, who fed him false allegations from Joan Coleman’s RAINS list, he has at least a passing acquaintance with Bill Maloney and/or his family member, and has reached out to Jonathan Wedger, both of whom are also avid promoters of the SRA narrative.

The connections are becoming ever more evident, as we see Mr Wedger making nice with the Scottish Fresh Start Foundation; meanwhile, the FSF’s Catriona Selvester has “updated” the RAINS list and plastered it not only on her own blog but on various other sites around the internet (presumably for safe-keeping?).

It’s very clear that we’re looking at yet another attempt by SRA promoters across the UK to distribute and publicise the RAINS list, and provoke yet another round of witch-hunts.witchfinder-general2-1

  1. An excellent write-up EC. It certainly does appear that they wish to start another round of witch-hunts and they are pulling out all the stops, even bringing Bill Maloney out of retirement. Bill Maloney is well known for promoting stories of VIP paedophile abuse and SRA.

        • I noticed- after he was accused of falsely portraying himself as a winner at the very prestigous New York Film Festival and he removed this falsehood, he has re-instated the claim.

          What he did was enter one of his atrocious unwatchable films (cameraperson – daughter) in a phony entity, the defunct New York Film and Video Festival which was trying to cash in on the other name. It lasted about 3 years before the New York Trading Standards authority decided to investigate it for fraud.

          What they did was charge everyone who entered about $500 and then the entrants were charged huge sums for their film to be “premiered” at major theatres (which ended up being in The Bronx etc) with supposed numerous media attending (none ever turned up). And everyone won a “certificate”.

          Sadly the USA is full of these shonky outfits (usualy started by the same fly-by-night grifters) that turn up regulalry to rip off prospective media industry hopefuls. Most people are furious after they realise they have been conned. Not Baloney though- decided to try and turn it to his advantage but alas, no directing offers have been forthcoming from major studios.

Few people would realise that that seemingly innocent bottle of Tomato Sauce in this window is in fact a bottle of fresh blood drained from the corpse of a hapless child who wandered too close to a murderous MKUltra Satanic Orgy held in a forest near you and probably attended by half the Conservative Party MPs.
            It’s their favourite method of recruiting new members- invite them in for an innocent fish’n’chip dinner with sauce but they get a taste for fresh blood.

      His gatecrashing of poltician’s press conferences where he yelled and screeched forcing everyone to retreat from the Angry Ant is portayed by the Nutcase Brigade as a stunning victory rather than reality – sensible people walking away from a fuming member of the public who rants and raves about matters totally unconnected to the subject at hand.

        • Head is the navy term for the toilet. Wood is slang for an erection. Headwood is therefore an erection used in a lavatory, or as a heath user would call it a cottage.

          Also thinking of cottage reminds me of cottage cheese, a dairy product used for evil in voudou ceremonies.

    • But according to the eventual report they did know each other.
      I’ve always pondered- seeing even police at the very top are no longer a proected species- that Veale walks on thin ice and could be very easily falsely accused himself. A 5 minute innocent encounter can be used to destroy anyone. Veale is too pink-cheeked, too “handsome” and too neat and apparently works out. Seems very proud of his physical and uniformed appearance. Nothing wrong with that.

      I can image if he were falsely accused the general public could be easily swayed he was guilty just by his looks alone and by a “hiding in plain sight” factor. Just ask Paul Gambicinni how it works.

    I have to admit I chuckled at Jon Wedger referring to SRA as “the elephant in the room”. Isn’t the essence of an elephant in the room that everyone knows it’s there but no one wants to talk about it? Thing is, though, these people never shut the f*ck up about it!

          • In libel there is a reversal of the usual rules. In principle it is accepted that defamation occurred. It is then up to the defendant to “prove” what they were saying was true. Now this is where it gets tricky for Becki.

            In the US they have a process called discovery which amounts to a great fishing expedition which could be hugely embarrassing for her. However, they also have the first amendment which would render the chances of a case reaching this stage negligible.

            England & Wales doesn’t have discovery but we have disclosure. Put simply English law allows you to ask for documents, electronic or otherwise. A defendant would therefore be able to request access to all her emails and letters on the subject. A copy of all her emails and letters sent to, say, the relevant police forces and agencies detailing her complaints would probably turn up a big fat zero. In the absence of any corroborating evidence that what she is saying is true, proving a negative (i.e. the truth defence) may prove difficult but the honest opinion based on the known facts defence would hold.

            Then there is the matter of serving notice. I don’t think it’s been tested in English law, but a Scottish case ruled that in order to get a provider such as WordPress to divulge information about its users, the case would have to be heard in the US courts, so we’re back to paragraph 2!

            [Disclosure: whilst still I write material which requires me to keep abreast of libel laws, the last time I had to issue a Arkell v Pressdram style response was in 1996. I am not a lawyer!!!]

            • I can say Becki Percy is an allegation maker, and can produce evidence in support. Becki Percy does not worry about evidence, it restricts her creative flow of fantasy making.

  10. Wedger strikes me as highly suspect.

    As for the “RAINS” list I happen to have known one on it reasonably well. Lord Edward Montague was included and I think partly indicates how this list was compiled. Montague was bisexual but certainly not a pedophile although he did do jail time (he always maintained he was innocent of that charge but not of other then highly illegal homosexual encounters). Montague says he accepted his fate as a non winnable action by cops who were not only delighted to snare a member of the aristocracy but at that time actively despised people like him (along with pop stars etc). He would describe the almost hysterical excitment of police oifficers after his arrest.

    My involvement with Montague was via a very good friend who happened to be an on/off lover of Montague’s over 2 decades. He was the son of a Montague employee on the property and says his relationship began after he was 18 and while he would have engaged personally with the Lord before that age Montague was very strict as he did not want to be known as “liking them too young”. I visited Beaulieu a few times with my pal- he and Montague remained great friends and I met a couple of his lovers over the years- both men in their late 20s. My pal died about 20 years ago in an accident.

    But it indicates to me that much of the sheer hatred these fanatics engage in is also a virilent anti-gay sentiment they have weaved into the mix since anti-LGBT has become an anethema to the greater public. They have seized upon real and alleged or even fantasy “pedophilia” as a new cause (and again gives rise to possibly questioning suppressed desires that drives this fanaticism).
    And they do not help prevent child abuse- they cloud and complicate the issue.

    My perspective on Mike Veale is that he has been the victim of a rather nasty and complicated long con of the sort depicted in the 1973 film The Wicker Man

    Jut like the cop in The Whicker Man, Veale is convinced of his own moral superiority and his exceptional detecting skills. He possesses great faith in his ability to perceive sinister goings on beneath apparently innocent events

    He believes that he is uncovering a sinister conspiracy of child sacrifice but is unable to see that he is the one who is being led on a merry dance from which he is unable to extract himself.

    Veale has been influenced into playing the role of a fool and manipulated into believing that by doing so, he will be triumphant in unmasking an evil conspiracy of child sacrificers.

    Unfortunately for Veale the other actors in this fascinating piece of participatory theatre have their own agendas and none of them will do a thing to save him when he meets his ultimate fate, which is to be sacrificed in the bonfire of public disgrace, while the most serious abuses of all will go unreported and unrecognised.

    • The second time you watch the Wicker Man, especially the beetle scene, you become acutely aware that you have a hero too dense or arrogant to perceive the warnings that almost every character gives directly to his face. Something similar happens in “The Draughtman’s Contract”.

      • I think that plenty pf people warned Mike Veale, or at least tried to. It is terribly sad really. Once someone is in the grip of a cult, and the SRA promoting conspirators are in a kind of cult, it is very difficult to talk sense to them. They prefer the dream to reality. As many before have said, it is very depressing that so many people actually want this stuff to be true.

His only faults are his gross stupidity, complete inability to produce tangible evidence and an obsessive belief ranting at weird garden gnomes equates to investigative journalism. Aside from all that he’s quite amusing. He’s known to associate with Brian from east 17. So overall he’s not so bad.

  14. The transcript of Wedgers’s words in the video (which wasn’t easy to pick out) I think is this:

    It is a really weird thing to say, is it not? What exactly is a “Satanic element” and “any act”. It really boggles the mind how these people think, that they see Satan everywhere.

    Responsibility for anything evil can’t just be human. It has to involve some seemingly all-powerful Satan it seems.
    It really is comic book/infantile thought. Ultimate good guy/bad guy silliness.

    I suppose that is why these hoaxes and throwaway accusations without any evidence appeal to simple minded or simplistic thinking people.
    People like Maloney and Wedger (like may others too) create a fantasy picture which always involves bad guys – who tend to be people in position of great power who are abusing the little ordinary folk. This seems just the thing to be picked up by anyone who does not feel that they have any control over their life and wants to blame external powerful forces for everything bad they see.

    As I understand it, the vast majority of abuse of children is carried out by someone very close to them. This real abuse doesn’t get so much attention and is really covered up and drowned by the noise and clamour of all this satanic conspiracy tosh, which is why it is so dangerous. It does not help real victims/survivors in any way and probably helps to cover up real abuse by diverting attention away from reality with fantastical stories.

    • Vetting his sources, checking their credibility and questioning the veracity of the evidence they presented might have been a good start.

      • Are you implying that he didn’t do any of the above? That is a serious thing to say. The report his office produced suggests that they did indeed vet the sources, check their credibility and check the veracity of the evidence.

        • The police press conference announcing the investigation was a publicity stunt held in front of Heath’s former home;
          One interviewee was jailed for 12 months for making a bomb threat during the London Olympics. During that investigation was found to be in possession of a memory stick containing forty indecent images of children and had previously claimed that Heath was recruited by the Abwehr at a Nazi rally in Nuremberg in 1937;
          Another was a Twitter fantasist who was previously known to be a person who made unfounded accusations against senior politicians based on no evidence;
          Another interviewee had been convicted of child sex crimes;

          And no alarm bells had rung? Even at this point Veale had told others that he “120%” believed the complainants.

          Tinribs made a very good point:

          “Vetting his sources, checking their credibility and questioning the veracity of the evidence they presented might have been a good start.”

          I’ll leave it to others to draw their own conclusions as to whether that is what he did.

          • I would grant that Veale’s comment that he ‘120%’ believed the complainants was unwise.

            I do not believe that the report he produced is deficient however. I always encourage people to read the actual detail of reports and not rely on off-the-cuff comments from police officers.

            It is well testified to in the research that a small % of abuse victims unfortunately do turn in abusers themselves.

            I find your implication that because an interviewee had themselves been convicted of child sex crimes that they must be lying very troubling. This is again one of the problems about this comments on this blog. People just mouth off about serious matters without doing the necessary research.

            • When the report from Project Conifer was released last year we read it closely, and then wrote about it in several articles. We do keep track of what certain other bloggers and public commentators have to say, but we definitely do our own research first. It’s a bit presumptuous to assume that our opinions are just rehashes of the work of others, don’t you think?

      They should have dug up his corpse and tried that of course.

      Maybe the murder rate in the U.K. actually is several times the recorded rate, the murder of children by non parents many many squillions times bigger than the recorded rate.

      I think there should have been an investigation.

    Seriously ? Winner is one of the most steadfast and outspoken anti rapist guys out there. He directed death wish for ****’s sake. I still remember his true crime series and the Colin pitchfork episode. Michael winner may not have been Orson Welles when it came to making movies but he rabidly despised criminals and none more so than rapists and child abusers. I expect he refused to promote whacksdoodle evidence light cases on his tv show and as a result was seen as covering stuff up.

    Disgusting way to treat the dead.

    • I suppose their logic is that Michael Winner liked younger women therefore he must be a paedophile. I suspect that most of the hoaxers are incredibly jealous of anyone with a sex life. At the risk of being patronising, I’d say that most of them would give up promoting their rubbish if they had a proper emotional life.

      [i]While we see specific stories covered of child trafficking and abduction, etc., there are thousands upon thousands that we do not. For instance, on the Dark or Deep Web, contrary to what you may hear, you can find snuff films such as “Daisy’s Destruction”, filmed in the Philipines, in other countries stories abound like the story of Madeline McCann, a beautiful little girl taken while she and her family were on vacation in Portugal. So, for various reasons, this is happening whether it be in your neighborhood or in a different country, and we are simply not aware. Satan is really good at attempting to distract us from what is really going on and also making it so frightening and ugly that no one wants to see. But for the sake of these little children, no matter where they are from, if you see suspicious photos or if you are out in public and see a child with an adult that isn’t acting normal, let someone know.

      Too many times we are so consumed with our own lives and business that we fail to really look at what is going on around us. Children locked up for years with next door neighbors, store clerks and possibly doctors who “didn’t see a thing”? Really? Or did they see and not want to be bothered with their own suspicions? We must start paying attention to what is going on around us, what is happening to our children at daycare and at school? Who are they around, what kind of people are they, who may hang out on the street they walk home on? We have to start asking because from what I have learned, these monsters are everywhere; in every business, in every walk of life, in every supposedly “kid-safe” place. I assure you, these places are the worst. A pedophile will always target places where children will be and are often, even for short moments, being left alone around other children.

      In this racket, there may be several type of people involved. As with the Peter Chernoff and Kevin Collins kidnapping and transporting to Bohemian Grove, his job was to locate and take Kevin. Other people are groomers and are typically the ones to subject the children to the worst horrors. In SRA’s there is a cult leader overseeing the affairs of the cult and an example would be selecting what age child that was wanted and possibly a particular child entirely.

      One thing we see over and over and over is the failure of those meant to protect these children being the very ones instigating and participating in the running of these operations. It goes all the from the top to the bottom and until those of us in the know or suspicion of these things happening get enough courage to speak up and speak out, these kids are doomed and we will all be to blame.
