Last we heard, that unlovable thug Chris Spivey was whingeing and moaning about being a ‘dead man walking’ should he be convicted of harassing Lee Rigby’s bereaved family…but then, much to everyone’s surprise, not least his own, he was handed a 6-month prison sentence, suspended for 2 years.

Poor Spivey…apparently even this very light slap on the wrist was too much for his delicate sensibilities. Because now, he’s taken the case back to appeal. Seems some people don’t know the meaning of ‘quit while you’re ahead’:

A high-profile blogger who was found guilty of harassing the family of Woolwich murder victim Lee Rigby earlier this year has launched his appeal in Chelmsford Crown Court.

Christopher Spivey, 52, from Rochford, who runs his own website, made a number of accusations, claiming that the family of Fusilier Rigby were involved in a conspiracy theory with MI5 and even arguing that the solider had never existed.

He was found guilty of harassing the dead fusilier’s mum, Lyn and half-sister, Sara McClure, and in August, avoided jail when he was handed a six-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.

Representatives of Spivey and the Crown Prosecution Service met in Chelmsford Crown Court yesterday (October 7) to bring the appeal process into action. He is thought to be keen to appeal both his conviction and the sentence imposed on him by District Judge John Woollard.

A further hearing has been scheduled for October 21, again at Chelmsford Crown Court.

  1. I dunno. I assume this appeal concept is false bravado. To me, through his writings & vids he comes across as the type of person who would never concede that he was wrong about Lee Rigby, nor that there was anything wrong with how he pursued his conspiracy fantasy, so long as he had an audience. Even if he was fully aware from the beginning that his fantasy was pure bullsh*t. I have no idea if this persona I perceive is actually “the real Spivy” or not. I might be perceiving a character that he portrays online, rather than his true self.

    But if this was not the case – if he TRULY believes everything he has said about the Rigby case – then he is seriously delusional and should probably be sectioned.

      And yes, if he truly believes all that garbage he spews, his mental health might need a tune-up.

  2. A real journalist would have gone to Manchester and made enquiries in Middleton. Of course Spivey can’t go there now. He is hated there and the people wouldn’t be as polite and genteel as the ones in Hampstead – he’d go home with a boot up his arse.

    I hope he knows an appeal can go the other way and he could have his sentence activated. Just sayin’.

  3. I was just going to say, he might get his sentence increased if they do hear his appeal. Obviously, he must have plenty of money to proceed with the appeal or does he get free legal aid. Has he lost the plot? You’d think he’d be grateful not to be locked up. I’m not sure why he’s bothering after all it’s not like he had a clean criminal record before is it?

  5. Spivey has climbed aboard the “crisis actor” madness but what a goose he is just like all those nutbags that surf the net and claim they are “investigative reporters”.
    The ‘crisis actor’ bullshit was created by this bloke in the US & it’s quite hard to know whether he is serious or having a laugh. I like his website because it’s really quite funny. Check it out- he seems to be building a new site but for the past few years he’s been saying a cast of actors take the roles of celebrities or powerful people. My favourite was his claim that HH The Queen was really Golden Girl Betty White. His site has been going for around 10 years but typical of dickheads like Spivey, they suddenly discover something years later & think they presenting something unique.

  6. Whenever i read something that Spivey has written it leaves me thinking does Spivey really believe what he writes or am i reading the work of someone with mental health issues? What he writes is so unbelievable & yet some folk appear to hang on his every word

    • I think ‘believing it’ and ‘mental health issues’ are the same thing. My gut feeling is that he’s just a nasty piece of work who perpetuates this stuff to make some income out of his site and associated activities, and likes to be a ‘name’ in the conspiritard pond.

  7. All these Alternative View lot that think they are a “name” need to get their heads out of their arses. Got to laugh though. Joe Public, previously known as Malcolm Blackman, who stood trial for rape of a fellow activist and was acquitted, is now gunning for Brian Gerrish and Ben Fellows. Lol. The other week it was Melanie Shaw. He’s another one in it for the hard cash and his ego.

  8. If i’ve got the dates correct, Melanie is due to be evicted from her home on 20th October. She is losing support. The “troofers” are all turning on each other.

  9. I hope that the appeal judge decides to cancel the 2 year suspended part and then puts Spivey inside for the 6 months.
